Micki Balder lets her vocals shine on new single, "Lonely"
All set for its official release on September 2nd, Micki Balder has another instant classic on her hands in the form of “Lonely”. We are loving this one dearly! Read on for our full review of the track, as well as a background on the artist.
Writing sad songs for happy people, Micki Balder is effortlessly putting together folksy, groovy, and ultimately feel good music. On her newest single “Lonely”, this singer-songwriter has put together something seriously special that resonated with us in a big way even after only listening through once. Taking influence from Mandolin Orange, Sara Bareilles, and so many more, she’s imparted her own sense of style that’s infectious.
What started as a life-long desire to be a character in a musical, Micki Balder is singing her feelings for the world to hear. While this appears to be her second overall single, we can confidently state that she’s 2 for 2 so far, because we loved her debut “Land to Build a Home On”. On the background of her music, Micki states, “My songs are personalized story telling, generally a one-woman show, with an authentic voice. I like to write and record with a time capsule attitude in mind, that each recording or album is like a glimpse of a moment in time, what was going on in myself and the world in that snapshot.”
To be perfectly honest, that statement and loving “Lonely” has us more excited for the future than ever. Within the first 30 seconds of listening, we legitimately had glowing smiles across our faces due to the freshness and originality that we were hearing. The upbeat and vibrant nature juxtaposed perfectly to the lyrical content being displayed. Truly, everything about it was a lovely introduction to the artist and it’s set a solid base for a promising future. We are definitely recommending you give the song a listen, but we can already tell this is going to be one of those artists that has a lot more stories to be told, so stay tuned for more.
