Symbolizing “life as we know it to be filled with troubles and good times”, Meano Brown’s latest output “Toxic/Critical Mass” is actually two wonderful songs fused into one piece of greatness. Split almost evenly in half in overall run time, this artist has put his heart on his sleeve to create something truly memorable that’s transcending art. If you know what’s good for you, you’ll make the time and give this song a listen.
Influenced by real life issues and not manufacturing fake messages just to create a “good” song, Compton-born and now New York-based artist Meano Brown is infusing truth and realness into his unique brand of music. While of course you’ll have to listen for yourselves, “Toxic/Critical Mass” is essentially two worlds colliding together in song. We suppose that the “Critical” side is more of a standard Hip Hop track with definite originality to it, but “Critical Mass” is where things got heavy lyrically and lured the listener in to really focus on the message.
Part of what we enjoyed so much about this hybrid track is showing off two sides of an artist that has proved he can do it at all. With so many musicians out there being one note and not showing their layers or complexities, it’s songs like this that are perfect introductions into new artists you might not be familiar with. As this was our first listening to Meano Brown, he’s piqued our interest to the point where we now know we need to keep up with everything else that’s hopefully on the way.
