Mainza talks her musical future & latest single, "Pills N Candy" - Interview

Fresh off the release of her third overall single titled “Pills N Candy”, we got the special opportunity to sit and speak with emerging artist, Mainza. Check out our full featured interview below!

Originally from Zambia, but raised in Massachusetts, Mainza’s consistently been influenced by all sorts of musical genres. That’s flowed directly into what she’s making as everything that has come out so far has been a little different. Embracing an 80’s aesthetic on her latest “Pills N Candy”, it was an honor to get to speak with Mainza all about the background of the track and where exactly she’s headed in the future.

At only 19 years old, it’s actually wild looking at the quality of her music thus far. A strong base has been set for the future, and as mentioned, she’s managed to touch on so many different sounds in such a short amount of time. Speaking directly on “Pills N Candy”, she wrote the song with her brother Kennedy who coincidentally also produced the song. You’ll feel it as soon as you hit the play button, but it’s one of the instantly vibey tracks that we know you’ll have on repeat nonstop.

As impressive as the production is the entirety of the song, of course Mainza’s vocals and delivery is what attracted us to it in the most place. She’s got that dynamic range and consistency that could surely translate to so many different areas of music, which is why we’re thrilled to see that constant experimentation in her three songs so far. We discussed it further in our interview, but it’s going to be an interesting next year seeing the direction of her sound and what an eventual live show looks like.

With all that being said, we can confidently point you in the direction of those links below knowing that you’re going to fall in love with her sound. Of course you must check out our discussion as well, but priority number 1 is hitting that play button to see exactly what we’re talking about. Don’t miss out on “Pills N Candy” and certainly don’t sleep on the greatness of Mainza.
