Everyone reading needs to stop what they’re doing and check out Maejis Mind’s new music. Seriously, his two new singles “What’s Worth It” and “Dizzy” are divine! Read on for our glowing review, in addition to a much needed background on the artist.

Inspired by the current heroes of psychedelic music like Tame Impala and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, the music of Maejis Mind is legitimately giving them a run for their money. On his first two singles “What’s Worth It” and “Dizzy”, we instantly became flabbergasted with the quality and originality in which both of these songs hold. That’s not a describer we typically use when reviewing, however it’s beyond necessary in this scenario.

As he’s currently based in Los Angeles, we can’t wait for the day to hopefully see him in a live setting somewhere around the city. While that might come in the future, let us gloat about and let you know why we enjoyed these songs so much. In the world of modern psychedelia where everything feels like it’s being overrun with phasers and reverb, it was the first impression on this pair of songs that really showed us how inspiration is supposed to work. Instead of copycating like so many out there to do, you’re about to experience around 8 minutes in total of genius innovation.

While “What’s Worth It” takes on more of an instrumental approach, it also allowed for Maejis Mind to show off his production skills and essentially go off on a musical rant that ultimately ended with massive smiles on all of our faces. Speaking on “Dizzy”, which has a lot more vocals featured, he expertly includes them as an extension of another instrument. Sure, it’s slightly difficult to make out the lyrics, and that’s ok, because the overall feel, vibe, and atmosphere is what we were trying to gain the most from our listening.

Whenever music like this comes across our plate and perfectly aligns with the music we listen to in our off hours, we tend to “judge” it a bit more strictly. With that being said though, everything about this was pure gold and we’ll 100% be coming back to it for additional listens due to pure enjoyment.
