Coming in right around the end of the summer, Lyle Oliver has graced us once again with an upbeat rocker titled “Sentimental Reasons”. Keep reading for an analysis of the track, as well as an update on one of our favorite emerging artists.

Following up the hot weather anthem that was “Busch Party” not too long ago, Lyle Oliver and his longtime collaborator Mladen Alexander have cooked up another fresh sounding single called “Sentimental Reasons”. This time though, they’ve crafted the song in the Brit Pop style and as always concocted some seriously meaningful lyrics that bring it all together for a well rounded experience. It’ll put a smile on your face, get your head rocking back and forth, and generally put you in a fantastic mood after your first listen.

On the background of it all, Lyle has said that this song is “about a woman’s worth” and to “love someone for who they are, not what they are or how much money they have. It’s about treating your partner with respect and dignity”. For us, we couldn’t possibly agree more and it challenges the listener to actually connect the dots within his words to form the full story. In our multiple interviews with Lyle on previous singles, he’s always given off that good natured feeling, and his music is a direct connection to the great person he is.

Putting the message aside for just a moment though, Lyle and Mladen have become literal masters of composing the instrumental end with catchy hooks and soaring harmonies. It’s become a signature style based on everything we’ve heard so far, but felt as though “Sentimental Reasons” took that claim to a higher level in terms of reaching pure euphoria towards the higher notes and real climax of the song. We were also particularly fond of the way the song was mixed on the vocal side as they join in unison during the more intense moments of the track. Filled with bright 90’s-esque guitar riffs that don’t get too heavy and the perfect length to make you want to come back for another listen immediately, “Sentimental Reasons” is another instant hit in Lyle’s long list of successful singles this year.
