Lora Kelley debuts heartfelt music video for "Mama's Kitchen"
Officially released today on May 6th, 2021, Lora Kelley has released an all new single, “Mama’s Kitchen”, that has been accompanied with a visually stunning music video. Read on for our full review of both, in addition to a background on the artist as well.
With a song and music video that celebrates motherhood and womanhood, Lora Kelley has woven her own personal story into the music with the release of “Mama’s Kitchen”. The music video itself is a collaborative effort that shows different mothers in all stages and walks of life. We couldn’t help but be emotionally attached nearly instantly to both the song and video, you’re going to love it!
According to Lora herself, "I wrote this song to celebrate the many ways in which women mother, tend, and nourish the people in their lives. I wrote it to honor and encourage those of us who long to feel seen in these hidden places. The work you do matters”. We could not possibly agree more here. The video demonstrates the sincere importance that can be taken for granted being a mother.
Now we won’t spoil too much more of the video, because we’d obviously prefer you watch for yourself, but the single itself is great on its own as well. Featuring a fairly straightforward country pop feel to it, the star of the show here is so obviously the crisp and clear vocals of Lora Kelley. While the instrumentation featured in the background is certainly unique and adds a nice complex layer, it’s singlehandedly Lora who’s carrying us through.
Seeing as though she’s the genius behind both the music and video, it instantly begs the question to us of why hadn’t we been listening to her before. With that being said though, we’ll definitely be assigning ourselves some “musical homework” and starting from the beginning on her music. “Mama’s Kitchen’ had a light, airy, and hopeful feel to it, so that’s what we hope to gather from the rest as well.
