Lola Vain take us through their process on single, "Dirty Filthy Crazy" - Interview

Fresh off the release of their latest in-your-face rocker titled “Dirty Filthy Crazy”, we got the opportunity to sit and speak with Lola Vain all about their newest single. Please watch our full interview with the band below.

Just released on November 4th, 2022 and undoubtedly been stuck in our heads since, Lola Vain’s upbeat and vibrant new track is called “Dirty Filthy Crazy”. At the helm of the band is Scott Hammons (vocals) and Brian Buzard (guitar), both incredibly talented musicians who have gone above and beyond in creating this well rounded song. During our conversation with the artists, we got a much needed background on what the song is actually about, their dynamic creating music long distance, and even a look into what 2023 is going to hold. It’s both a song and a band we’re urging everyone to learn and listen to.

On the heels of their last released single “I’m Alive” which has already seen a ton of success, Lola Vain have made a slight pivot in their sound, but one that we’re welcoming with open arms. This one in particular feels a little more lighthearted comparatively, but still manages to capture the essence of what makes the band so great. In their typical fashion, they’ve infused their heart, soul, and bif riffs into the mix. On the opening notes on “Dirty Filthy Crazy”, listeners are immediately welcomed by soaring vocals, a classic rock tone in the instrumentation, and a whole lot of passion through and through.

Says Brian on the background of the single, “Scott wrote the lyrics to appeal to the “wild” side in all of us—our relationships.  How we choose to have a good time when we’re out together.  The song appeals to our desire to let go and just be who we were meant to be—no apologies. Scott collaborated with Jamie Waller on some of the lyrics.” That was certainly a major focal point of our love for this song, that it’s relatable and waiting to be sung right back to the band in a live setting. There’s no doubt that it’s anthemic, but also the versatility that it holds through its genre spanning sounds and styles. Everything is perfectly placed and it’s got us quite excited to see how the band follows this up.
