Corrj shares highly personal debut concept record, "MOOD"

Taking the listener on a ride through adventure and personal experience, Corrj has truly outdone himself with the release of his debut album, MOOD. Keep reading for a closer look into the record, as well as a much needed background on this artist.

Currently based out of Sydney, Australia, Corrj has gone above and beyond in creating a true concept record, MOOD. Lyrically charged and backed up effortlessly by an astounding production and diverse instrumentation, the artist leads with his expressive vocals as he takes us on a journey through the lifespan of a tumultuous relationship. Without a doubt though, it’s both an artist and an album that we’re urging everyone to get themselves into.

On the background of it all, ultimately Corrj has let us know that MOOD is the “the timeline of my relationship from being single, to falling in/out of love and the breakup”. While he focuses on the immersion and true concept of it all, we can confidently say that he’ll have you hooked from the opener on. Not only are you getting a fantastic blend of pop and many other styles that show themselves, but the vulnerability that comes out is awe-inspiring. As Corrj is an emerging artist, he’s put it all out there for those to discover him and the times he’s been through. With the help of producer Mason Vellios to really make this thing pop, it would be nothing without the suspenseful and dramatic vocal delivery that he provides on each and every song.

While we’re always big fans of music videos to display the stories, honestly we’ve felt that Corrj has done more than enough in his vivid lyricism, simply painting a clear picture for the listener. As the record goes on, it’s really a rollercoaster of emotion that you’re experiencing right along with him. From start to finish through major standout tracks like “Infatuation”, “I Swear”, “Memories”, and many more, you can’t help but feel like you were there along for the ride as a close confidant. We could talk all day about the explosiveness of the music, more on the production, and plenty more highlights, but the fact of the matter is that this is the definition of a true concept record. Corrj has nailed it in that aspect and MOOD is begging to be played untouched for the full album experience.
