L.J.P. creates a laid back vibe on spectacular 3rd LP, "In This Together"
Fresh off the release of his third studio album titled In This Together, the artist known as L.J.P. has simply gone above and beyond in creating something that takes risk and chances. We’re loving it! Read on for a closer look, as well as a much needed background on this talented artist.
As a self-described guitar player, songwriter, and singer by default, L.J.P. really has proved that he can do a little bit of everything on In This Together. Serving as his third full length record since 2018, L.J.P. is a Vancouver-based artist and Twitch streamer who is consistently putting an emphasis on the music and instrumental side, claiming that the words come second. For us though, we’ve found it to be quite diverse and inclusive of everything, which is why we're thrilled to be able to recommend it to everyone.
Coming in at 12 total tracks, spanning right around 55 minutes, our initial listen of In This Together had us feeling generally positive and upbeat. A major standout among many though is that we found this album to be incredibly cohesive as L.J.P. has certainly created a highly specific and laid back vibe throughout. Although he claims his words come second, a ton of our enjoyment came directly from his vocals and their relaxing cadence. Truly, there’s such a warmness and inviting nature to the way that he sings, everything mends together for an immensely chill listen that flows through seamlessly.
Picking a favorite track would be close to an impossible task as well, but it’s hard to deny the greatness that specifics like “Queen of the Morning”, “I’m Your Man”, and “Secret Hero” hold. A recurring theme through everything though are some of the more drawn out guitar solos that you find yourself getting lost in, only to be pulled back in to the core of some of these great songs. Honestly, this was our introduction as a whole to L.J.P.’s music, but knowing that he’s got two more albums, our exploration has really only begun. With that being said though, if this is your introduction, we can think of no better place to start than here.
