Livvy Lauren lets her vocals lead the way on single, "Messin'"
Staying incredibly consistent in 2022 and back at it again with a new one titled “Messin’”, we’ve got our eyes on Livvy Lauren as she continues to make a name for herself. Do yourselves a favor and please read on for our full review of the track, as well as a background on this emerging artist.
Letting her vocals take hold and lead the listener through an immersive experience, Livvy Lauren’s latest single “Messin’” is a masterclass in storytelling and song production. If for some reason you’re out of the loop on this artist, she’s no stranger to music itself and has been at it since she was a child. Taking cues from some of the current greats like Jorja Smith, Doja Cat, and many more, Livvy has still managed to carve out a niche for herself in an incredibly crowded genre. Plain and simple though, this song is wonderful and is worthy of your time and energy to listen.
As impressive as the song structure and backing instrumentation is, we were immediately drawn to the openness within its message and context. Making connections through her deep lyricism, Livvy says, “Although each of my songs are very personal to myself, they are relatable situations that can hopefully help other people as well”. This was our introduction to the artist, but through the two songs she’s shared, it’s not difficult to sense the passion behind it all and a real fiery energy that cuts through too.
While we could name infinite moments that stood out throughout the near three minute track, a real highlight would have to be the expression that comes through in Livvy’s voice. Anyone can get out there and sing a song, but the personality and sincerity is what sets it apart from the pack. There’s a dynamic range presented, and with the double layered vocals that appear sporadically, you’re never left with a moment of silence. Even comparing it to her debut “50/50” that was shared earlier this year, Livvy clearly has a vision that is strategically coming out as we see more music shared into the world.
With all that being said though, it should come as no surprise that we’re overwhelmingly recommending a listen. You can do so by checking out the links below, as well as following her on her social media in order to keep up with everything else on the way. Enjoy!
