Expertly blending up equal parts of Pop, R&B, and Acoustic sounds, Lew Elliott’s debut EP Spirits Up has elevated his originality to a new level. Inspired by Michael Jackson and imparting a whole sense of innovation from himself, this record has toed the line of experimentation and raw songwriting in the best way possible. We implore the reader to check it out immediately.
Featuring a subtle symbolism in the themes covered throughout the lyricism, Lew is proving to be not just a one note performer who’s got a fantastic voice. On just four total songs, spanning right around 13 minutes, you’re getting the absolute best of what this artist has to offer here. Stripping back the instrumentation even just for a moment, Spirits Up for us represented a large dose of optimism, positivity, and a great look of going forward in this crazy world.
Currently based out of London, England, we can certainly feel the spirit of Michael Jackson coming through on the record, but the authenticity that this emerging artist has brought is very much his own. The passion, love, and the careful attention to detail is what made us fall in love the quickest. What you can really expect here is a top tier production with carefully put together arrangements that are not only easy to vibe along with, but will definitely have you bobbing your head along as well. It’s a wonderful start for Lew Elliot and we sincerely can’t wait to hear what else he comes with in the coming months and years.
Seeing as though it’s only four tracks total, we highly recommend you don’t skip around from song to song, rather listen cohesively from start to finish in order to get the EP’s full message across. Each song could certainly be pulled and put on individual playlists, however for the first run through, make sure to click play on “Lover” and let it play through untouched.
With all that being said though, this record is obviously a winner in our eyes and we can’t wait for you to check it out. For all things Lew Elliott, to listen, and to keep up with all future releases and information, please check out the following links below.
