Left Of The Slash get heavier on thrilling single, "The Time Is Now"
A new month means another new Left Of The Slash single! We’re ecstatic with the latest release from the band titled “The Time Is Now”. Read on for our full review, as well as a refresher on this rocking band.
If you haven’t heard us say it before, we’ll continue to say it until the end of time. As long as Left Of The Slash continues to release music, we’ll always be listening! Putting forward yet another memorable track is their latest titled “The Time Is Now”. Engineered by Wyn Davis (Sublime, Guns N' Roses) and Steve Ornest (Foreigner, Van Morrison), get ready to get wild with their latest output.
Once again, the band’s frontman Stephen Reid Nemeroff has led the group to absolute glory on this new track. On the meaning of it all, Stephen let us know, “‘’The Time Is Now’ is about standing up for what you believe in and taking control of your life. The theme of taking action vs watching is portrayed throughout the song. The energy of this track always gets me fired up and it will be cool to see this translate to the audience."
We couldn’t possibly agree more, this song is going to crush in a live setting. What immediately stood out to us the most was the even heavier instrumentation than you’d typically find on a Left Of The Slash song. Almost reminiscent of Metallica in tone, a production choice that we quite enjoyed was that the vocals felt like they sat in the back of the mix, therefore letting each and every band member have their individual moment. Dare we say the vocals felt a little lo-fi as well, but in a way that brought a complexity to it at all.
Having the opportunity to review each of their released singles has been a serious pleasure, especially getting to hear the subtle sound changes from month to month. This one specifically cranked it up to unimaginable levels in our eyes and bordered on a type of metal that we didn’t know the band were capable of. With that being said though, and we’re not surprised in the slightest, they’ve made it work like they always do. This one is 100% another winner.
Like always, we highly recommend not only listening to their latest, but going through the greatness that they’ve unleashed over this past year. Check out all the important links below!
