If you’re out of the loop on Kayla Silverman, there’s never been a better time to enter her complex world of music. Now our second time getting to speak with the artist all about her processes and new singles, the conversations just keep getting better as we go down the rabbit hole of her artistry. On Kayla’s newest track, “Mine”, she’s left our jaws on the floor once again with a piece of beauty that’s begging to be heard.

Described as the “byproduct of a studio session with Mozart and Billie Eilish”, there’s literally never been truer words that have been spoken. What we love so much about Kayla’s music are the intricacies and perfectionism that always comes out of her daunting writing and recording sessions. With so much forethought that goes into these songs, they’re built for repeat listens as to not miss out on the subtleties that are present.

On “Mine” specifically, Kayla explains that it’s “the epitome of experiencing adulthood and moving out for the first time”. We got into it fully during our interview, but there’s actually a really funny story and connection about her dingy apartment and this song. As much as the priority is to listen ASAP, Kayla shared some really personal, yet important insight into the song. No matter what though, you’re going to love it regardless.

One last thing, and we promise to not give too much away, but the instrumentation and orchestral section included on “Mine” is nothing short of perfection. Having actually composed the music and set up an orchestra to get this recorded, going the extra steps actually made the true difference because the final package of the song is an 11/10. It cannot be overstated just how striking and vibrant everything came out.
