Katie Tich lets it all out on personal single, "Afterimage"

Potentially her most meaningful and heartfelt single yet, Katie Tich has delivered yet another beauty, “Afterimage”. Read on for our positive review of the track, in addition to a refresher on this talented artist.

We’re no strangers to Katie Tich’s music, but when she releases absolute gold like this single “Afterimage”, we get the overwhelming urge to tell everyone about it. Lyrically she’s created this and it’s most likely the heaviest thing she’s put out so far. She wrote it after processing the death of a close friend and ultimately this song is her expressing significant amounts of grief and frustration around it. It’s a tough subject matter obviously, but the music she’s made to signify this time is a shot of pure beauty.

There are so many things we could say about this song, and we will, but we’ll kick it off by letting everyone reading know that this is Katie’s attempt to further promote suicide prevention and mental health care. We feel the same as it’s a topic that as much as it gets talked about, can never really be talked about too much.

Speaking directly to the song though, the arrangement and composition of “Afterimage” is 100% pristine, we wouldn’t change a thing about it. We’ve always loved Katie’s music due to her dynamic vocals and ability to get her emotions across. In this case though, the addition of a strings section somehow brought the message to a new level and sincerely sent shivers down our spines as they came into the mix for the first time. We fully got lost in this song and its message, and we know for a fact you will too.

For something that’s personal to an artist, at times it might feel like it’s invasive to even be listening. It’s an odd thing to think about, but Katie has introduced this part of her life to the world and it fits snugly into her discography that’s grown rapidly over the past year. While it might be a standout, it’s still something that we’ve got to recommend everyone listen to. If you’ve yet to dive into her music as a whole, then you’ve sorely been missing out too!

Do a deep on Katie Tich, listen, follow along, and stay tuned for everything else she’s got that’s hopefully coming soon. Enjoy!
