KABELLE reach new highs on their latest synth-pop single, "Wonder"
Coming in right at the end of the year with a stellar new single titled “Wonder”, we’re loving everything about the latest from KABELLE. Read on for an in-depth look into the track, as well as a necessary background on this new group.
Currently based out of London, England, KABELLE are an all new synth-pop group that formed in 2021, but have been unbelievably prolific in their releases thus far. Their newest musical endeavor is a track called “Wonder” that right off the bat hits euphoric highs within the vocals, provides an energetic mix of instrumentals, and ultimately holds the feeling of positivity. While this was our introduction to the band, we didn’t quite know what to expect, but they’ve left us becoming big fans with the urge to check out the rest.
Taking inspiration from like minded artists such as Chvrches or The Naked and Famous, KABELLE have still managed to carve out this niche sound and style that feels fresh. In today’s day and age as everyone is pulling influence from others, truly it’s music like this that gives off a sincerity and focuses on nostalgic passages and futuristic visions. As synthesizers overwhelmingly take over the bulk of the mix, in the best way possible, you can’t help but feel the enthusiasm driving in the drums too. For us, they certainly add that much needed “oomph” and were probably our most underrated moment of the song. On the opposite end, it’s hard to deny that the vocals weren’t our favorite, because experiencing the range on “Wonder” had us on a thrill ride of emotion.
With Adam Gordon (synths/programmer), Katie Jones (vocals), and Bertie Atkinson (drums) at the helm, we cannot wait to experience the journey that their discography is going to take. They’ve established this well rounded base for themselves, but it’s begging for a bit of experimentation in the future. They’re all very clearly talented on their respective instruments, which means the versatility is endless for their capabilities. For now though, if this happens to be your introduction, we’ve found “Wonder” to be the ideal jumping off point to the rest of their music.
