Justin Neil delivers a joyous country track with "You and I"
Shared officially on December 18th, 2020, Justin Neil ended the year on a high note with his latest single, “You and I”. Do yourselves a huge favor and read along with us as we share our thoughts on the track, in addition to a background on the artist as well.
Based in Austin, Texas, but representing the Nashville music scene, Justin Neil is a country music singer and songwriter who derives his passion from telling the honest truth within his music. Impressively enough, he was Off The Row’s Breakout Artist of 2020 and since then he’s released four stellar singles.
Closing out the year with a piece of art like this was a fantastic way to go out, but at this point, it’s got us incredibly excited for what’s in store in 2021. We don’t want to jump too far into the future or rush the artist into putting out more, however, Justin Neil deserves to be heard more and more frequently.
Specifically on “You and I”, what starts out as a fairly classic and straightforward country song quickly turns into a nice blend of what’s great about mainstream music today. Instrumentally speaking, the backing band has done a wonderful job of keeping things interesting in the background as the sole focus lies on Justin’s strongly unique vocals and delivery. Featuring a lively guitar solo to wrap things up at the end, there wasn’t really a dull moment on the track from start to finish.
At just about three and a half minutes in total runtime, the song also didn’t overstay its welcome in the slightest. We feel that it hit the perfect amount of emotion in what was displayed, but like any modern day success, left the listener wanting more. That sort of goes back to our initial point at the start letting the artist know directly, we need more!
Wrapping it up though, at this point it shouldn’t be a surprise that we’re suggesting you give it a listen. Whether you’re into country music or not, there’s a little something for everyone to love here. It’s a feel good, reflective, and joyous song that has a serious replayability factor. Enjoy!
