Effortlessly blending together an immense amount of styles and genres, Julian Fulco Perron literally has us up and dancing with his newest instant hit, “All the Lights”. Do yourselves a huge favor and please check out our full review of the track, as well as a background on this artist.

Julian Fulco Perron's latest single "All the Lights" is a funky, groovy, and rhythm-filled track that, described by Perron, combines the classic piano-pop melodies of Elton John with the modern psych-rock experimentation of Tame Impala. As major fans of the two separately, it might sound like an odd combination on the surface, but boy has he proved us wrong as he’s infused his own signature essence into the mix. In the off chance this is your introduction to Julian’s music, we can confidently claim you’re going to love this no matter the music you enjoy on a regular basis.

What immediately sets this song apart from others in the genre is its meaningful and personal lyrics, as well as a production that’s got that nostalgic flair about it. As a multi-instrumentalist and producer, Julian creates layers of sound featuring horn and string sections, but also adding on some really diverse instrumentation like a mellotron and vintage keyboards. His influences can be heard throughout the song, drawing from the writing and recording techniques of Brian Wilson and Paul McCartney. As mentioned though, these are only really only his inspirations, yet the music wholeheartedly speaks for itself in terms of freshness and originality.

"All the Lights" stands out in its messaging as the lyrics center around the artist’s personal struggle with depression and feeling lost in the darkness, and how he was able to find his way back to the light and find meaning in his life. Ultimately it’s got a feeling forward thinking positivity, being perseverant, and holding onto that optimism that things are going to get better. With a catchy beat and thoughtful lyrics, "All the Lights" is a perfect example of Julian Fulco Perron's unique blend of art-pop, power pop, and funk music. It's a track that not only gets you moving but also encourages you to keep fighting and searching for peace. It easily could’ve been released in the early 70’s and been a hit, however we’re listening in 2023, and it’s just as good!
