Back in a big way with the release of her all new single, “Look It Up”, it’s Josey here again with a winner that we’re absolutely loving. Do yourselves a favor and read along with us for our full look on the track, in addition to a refresher on the artist as well.

For those unaware, Josey is a Soul Pop and R&B artist who is currently representing the Nashville music scene. Having covered her lovely single, “Energy” this past June, we are beyond thrilled she’s back with more. Performing at venues (when she can) such as The Chicago Theatre, The Metro, and more, the artist has also had the opportunity to open for artists such as Diane Warren, Corey Henry, and Shawn Mullins. She is seriously the real deal.

Creating a balance between her music, especially amongst genres, is what she’s always striving to do. Hitting that perfect intersection of soul, pop, and alternative R&B is the goal, and on “Look It Up”, we confidently feel that she’s mastered the task.

Although she's only released three official singles to date, it’s without a doubt a fact that all have been winners. Seeing that “Look It Up” is the third success in her discography, we can’t help but assume that 2021 is going to be a massive year for the artist. With so much promise in her overall sound, style, personality, and more, it’s only a matter of time until she hits it big. We’ll be happy to say we knew her when.

While there’s so much to love on “Look It Up”, it’s no surprise in the slightest that our love has to be pointed in the direction of her stellar vocals. With a voice like that, she could be singing the ABC’s and we’d still be fans. An acapella version of the song would be just as welcomed, however, the stunning instrumentation, atmosphere, and overall vibe she has created has solidified the song as potentially the best in her lineup.

A hope of ours, and no rush to the artist, would be to see an influx of more music coming in the next part of the year. Whether it be in the form of an EP, full length record, or just a series of sporadic single releases. We’re here for it and we’ll be listening. Honestly, if you haven’t listened to anything Josey yet, what have you been waiting for?
