Jonathan Cronan’s single “blue” is an exceptional showcase of the young singer and songwriter’s talent. The track, which is reminiscent of the likes of Bob Dylan and Jeff Buckley, hones Cronan’s impressive skills as a multi-instrumentalist, artist, and producer. Hailing from Northern California, but now based in Los Angeles, Cronan has crafted his sound from a variety of influences, including soul and jazz to acoustic and pop music. This one embodies a little bit of everything, but is still unbelievably fresh and original sounding, a main driver for our recommendation for all to enjoy.

Born in the late 90’s, Cronan’s love for music began at a young age when he started playing the guitar at just seven years old. Over the years, he has picked up a variety of other instruments which mostly are all on full display in “blue.” With four years of live show experience gained in high school, Cronan honed his craft and began creating homemade CDs to sell to friends at school and around town. It’s no surprise that Cronan instinctively chose to move to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music. He attended music school for a short time, but eventually dropped out to pursue multiple ventures and collaborations with artists like Nikola Bedingfield. “blue” is a testament to the hard work and dedication Cronan has put into his music career thus far.

The track itself is a beautifully crafted piece of folk-pop that showcases Cronan’s stunning vocals and intricate guitar playing. The lyrics are introspective and poetic, speaking to the ups and downs of relationships and the emotional turmoil that can come with them. Cronan’s ability to tell a story through his music feels like it comes with ease, and “blue” is an ideal example. Overall, the track is a wonderful introduction to Jonathan Cronan’s talents as a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.
