Jacob Wallace amazes on hard hitting single, "Poison Control"
Seeing its full release on July 16th, 2021, Jacob Wallace is back with an introspective new single titled “Poison Control”. Read on with us for our full review of the track, as well as a background on the artist too.
Seeking comfort with God on “Poison Control”, Jacob Wallace has expertly put together an acoustic-driven single that exudes perfect indie rock tones. Keeping to his motto of “finding your vulnerability”, Jacob has let it all hang out lyrically on this song that looks in, yet allows him to get his important message. Without a doubt, we highly recommend a close listen to this track and an even deeper dive into the musician.
Finding inspiration for “Poison Control’ during the winter before our current global pandemic, Jacob let us know, “I'm proud of this track and how it turned out. It doesn't fit the mold, not even my own and that's what I love most about it.” Wallace describes this song as forcing him to try new things‒to see music in a new light. In terms of musicianship, it has absolutely checked all of our boxes for what we enjoy most in a classic rock and roll sound, however the artist has thrown a curveball of sound into the mix. There’s a true amount of experimentation going on in many facets, but it all melts together into one highly replayable track.
Seeing as though this is Jacob’s first official release of 2021, we can confidently say that he’s headed in the right direction in terms of tonality, messaging, and all out greatness. With so much life experience (for everyone) wracking up in the last year, it’s songs like this that rely heavily on imagery-filled lyricism to really paint the picture of one’s life. While it hasn’t been easy for most, it’s always a plus getting to hear art in the form of music that we’re sure has allowed the musician to let off steam in one way or another. Thankfully for all the listeners out there, they get to reap the benefits of a song that we’ve quickly come to love.
Our plan here is to dig into the back discography as soon as possible, but in the meantime, we implore you all to check out “Poison Control” immediately. It’s going to make you feel emotions, but also rock out at the same time.
