Jacob Miller & Rachel Fannan create true beauty on "Sacred Regard"
Consider this a duo for the ages! We’re head over heels for Jacob Miller and Rachel Fannan’s new collaboration single, “Sacred Regard”. Read on for our full review of the track, as well as a background on these artists.
When you pair together progressive folk artist Jacob Miller and rock singer-songwriter Rachel Fannan, the obvious outcome is going to be a great deal of beauty. On their newest single together “Sacred Regard”, these two have completely floored with us an emotional and heart-string pulling performance that shows off the best of their abilities. We can’t wait for you to listen to this song as soon as you can.
On the background of “Sacred Regard”, the song tells a story of a missed connection and a romantic “could-have-been”. Equal parts haunting in sound and sentimental in its message, you’re going to fawn over an impressive feat in songwriting, storytelling, and just downright pretty tones. Part of what we loved so much about this song was its minimalistic approach that allowed for both Jacob and Rachel to equally share the vocal output. The instrumentation side of things sort of took a backseat, but played an incredibly important part to the overall vibe and atmosphere of the song.
Normally when we imagine a “music duo”, we immediately think that one artist takes their turn while the other waits to come in. The uniqueness of “Sacred Regard” was that there weren’t really any of those waiting moments, rather each artist was at the forefront the entirety of the time which made for a lovely listening experience. As intense as the vocals were, we also recommend really trying to make the lyrical connections on this track as you can quickly tell how personal the themes are too.
From what we can tell, this was the first collaboration between these artists, however we sincerely hope it’s not the last. When two talents get together and put out something as stellar as this, you really hope that there’s more on the way. In the meantime though while we cross our fingers and wait, do yourselves a favor and not only listen to the song, but follow them on their respective social media links that can be found below. Enjoy!
