Serving up his first single release of 2022, Jackson Watson is back and better than ever with the fresh delivery of “Eye Candy”. Keep reading for a much closer look into the track, in addition to a background on this artist.
Drenched in a rich production and Jackson Watson’s silky smooth vocals, this musician’s latest single is titled “Eye Candy”. Although it’s definitely more along the lines of “ear candy” (pun intended), he’s managed to infuse so many bold styles and genres into this short but sweet listen. While this was our introduction to the artist as a whole, he’s truly gone above and beyond in creating something memorable for a fruitful future. Needless to say, we’re urging everyone out there to give this a spin as soon as you can.
Taking inspiration from artists like Tame Impala, Harry Styles, and beyond, Jackson has still so eloquently carved out something unique and original of its own. On our now multiple listens, we came away with a ton of highlights that need to be mentioned. The first is just how well mixed this song really is. A sincere recommendation would be to listen with a nice pair of headphones because the production and balance stand out so nicely, otherwise you could potentially miss out on all the sonic subtleties that make “Eye Candy” pop the most. Jackson’s vocals do a fantastic job of setting the tone and the constant, but we particularly liked the way that they sit in the middle of the song while your attention gets pulled to every other fun effect thrown your way.
Crafted to be a “beach anthem”, we fully see ourselves in the near future either playing this while watching the waves crash or even as a pump up song while making our way to the coast. There’s an effortlessly chill and relaxing vibe that this song holds, it’s almost hard to explain, but we promise it’ll all make sense once you listen for yourselves. Furthermore, we 100% plan on digging into the rest of his discography as this really has impressed us. We need to do much more exploration into the music of Jackson Watson.
