GreenblacK explores his sound again on thrilling single, "Even If"
Proving it’s fully possible to one up yourself, GreenblacK has done exactly that on his second official single, “Even If”. This one is fantastic! Please read on for our glowing review of the track, as well as a much needed refresher on the artist.
Yohal Portal, who is much better known under his moniker GreenblacK, has just served up another monster single titled “Even If” to the world. It wasn’t too long ago that we were introduced to the artist by his debut single “Consumption Overkill”, but thankfully he’s back and better than ever with another thought provoking thriller. This is one that you’re not going to want to miss out on.
For those out of the loop on this artist though, he’s been more of a behind the scenes person producing and engineering for other musicians over the years. Thankfully though after all this time, his passions have rolled into something he can call his own. “Consumption Overkill” was a perfect introduction to the world, but “Even If” is a statement song that lets existing and new listeners know quickly that GreenblacK is the real deal. There’s so much originality, passion, and love that’s gone into this music, we can’t wait for more.
While of course we don’t want to give too much, because we’d much prefer you listen for yourselves, we do want to preface that this artist’s music is not for the lighthearted. “Even If” is the ideal avenue of where we thought his music would go, but in a way that celebrates exploration of sound. Considering Yohal Portal’s musical experience, he must’ve worked under so many genres, and it’s showing openly on just these two songs.
Through and through, “Even If” is jam packed with power, a certain aggressiveness, but mostly a wonderful base that’s definitely going to be built on in the coming months and years. It’s never easy for any artist to put themselves in the limelight after having spent so much time making art for others, which is why we’re ecstatic to continue to watch the direction he takes. Once again, we sincerely suggest you don’t miss out on this song, but also that you check out the debut for some much needed context as well.
