Graztopia lets us in on his EP, "Bare Bones in the Attic" - Interview

Staying as consistent as ever with his releases, we got the opportunity to sit and speak with Graztopia all about his newest record, Bare Bones in the Attic. Check out our full interview below!

Currently based in Long Island, New York, Graztopia is the one man project of singer, songwriter, and looping artist, Dan Graziano. He’s taken his impeccable multi-instrumentalist skills and managed to create yet another feel good record he’s calling Bare Bones in the Attic. For us, we consider ourselves extremely lucky to have gotten to sit and have a full conversation surrounding the release, what’s next on the horizon, and all the in’s and out’s of his process. Needless to say, this is a piece of music and conversation you’re not going to want to miss.

Cut down from 12 songs all the way to 4 for this record, one of the many things this artist cares about the most is the cohesiveness of his music. From what we learned, he’s sitting on a treasure chest full of demos and unreleased work that are just waiting to see the light of day, hopefully sometime in 2022. The fun thing about his music as a whole, and especially this EP, is that they evoke certain emotions and moods for the listener. There really is a focused cohesion in the sound and that’s a reason we’ll continue to be listening as he shares more in the future.

Although this new work is only 4 songs in length, they’re 4 wonderfully catchy songs that are beyond worthy of replaying. Normally we’d suggest 1 or 2 to check out, but you’d sorely be missing out if you didn’t listen from start to finish. The instrumentation is super catchy, the songwriting is clever and poignant, and you can sincerely feel the love and passion that went into every solitary moment of it. If anything, it’s got us amped up for the rest of the year, because so much more is on the way soon enough.

Lastly, we’d just like to point out how great of a guy Dan really was during our discussion. It’s so nice to be able to pick at an artist’s brain on the spot, especially when he gives as good answers as he did. While we’re located on separate coasts at the moment, it’s a new hope for us that we’ll someday get to see his live show in action. We have a feeling that these songs will translate even better in person!
