Glass Lord excels on a tropical-inspired track, "Santorini"
The ideal track for a bright and sunny summer, Glass Lord has just served up an instant classic titled “Santorini”. Please read on for a closer look at the single, as well as a much needed background on this talented artist.
Currently representing the Los Angeles music scene, Glass Lord is putting together an eclectic mix of dance pop, tropical house, and glimmers of rock too. On his newest song “Santorini”, we instantly got the feeling and vision of dancing the night away somewhere on a Greek island while this was cranked up and bumping in the background. As the hot weather looms around the corner in our area, we can already envision ourselves having this one on repeat nonstop. If for some reason this is your introduction to the artist’s music, this is the perfect jumping off point to dive into more.
Heavily inspired by the European EDM scene due to the artist growing up in Switzerland and France, you can truly sense global influences in just the three minutes of listening. It’s 100% true that the more places you live and experience, they eventually come to rub off on you in one way or another. “Santorini” for us has transcended a location or setting and rather given us the freedom to feel like we’re at the life of the party as long as this is playing in the background. A major factor and highlight was its diversity in genre too. There’s clearly elements of funk, but the jazziness certainly came through too as those horns hit sporadically.
As this was our introduction to Glass Lord, he’s left nothing but a feeling of optimism and positivity after our multiple listens. If the rest of his growing discography is anything close to this, which we can imagine it is, then it’s certainly worth your time to do some exploring. In the meantime though, don’t let a lack of nice weather prevent you from checking this one out. It’s primed to dance to, play at a party, or to just vibe out on your own.
