Gina DiGiorgio's latest single "Purgatory" gets remixed by The FifthGuys

On the heels of her latest single “Purgatory”, Gina DiGiorgio’s song was just given the remix treatment from The FifthGuys. We are loving this! Keep reading for a closer look into the music, as well as a much needed background on this talented artist.

Currently representing the music scene in Los Angeles, Gina DiGiorgio is a multi-talented pop artist and actress, continually pushing the boundaries of her sound and rapidly expanding her style. While we loved the original version of “Purgatory”, what The FifthGuys have managed to accomplish in their remix is astounding. Breathing a whole new life into the mix, we’re obviously urging everyone out there to click the play button on it as soon as you can.

Now before you listen to the “updated” version, we’d highly recommend you give the original spin in order to spot the differences and feel the massive tonal shifts. Not to say the original is downtempo in any way, but the flourishments that The FifthGuys infused into the remix truly put this one into overdrive. Leaning a little more electronic and blowing our ears out in the best way possible with screaming guitar riffs, the best part of it all is that Gina’s vocals continue to be the focal point and true essence of it all. The way she’s able to both capture and communicate emotion through her lyrics is one thing, but it’s the subtle delivery that makes this stand apart from the rest of her discography. Undoubtedly though, we’d love to hear more remixed versions of some of her other songs like “in the dark” or “Mask”.

Having not been familiar with The FifthGuys prior to this release, we’re not only thrilled we’ve been introduced, but ecstatic that all collaborators made this work. The original “Purgatory” is a 10 on its own, not even registering that a remix or change could be necessary. However with the major boost in production and the aforementioned additions, both singles will surely find a time and place for future listens. If for some reason you happen to be unfamiliar with Gina’s music completely, this is a wonderful place to start and a great jumping off point to dive into more.
