General Admin mesmerize on experimental EP, "techno techno techno techno"
Going above and beyond for another fantastic EP titled techno techno techno techno, General Admin have capitalized on what worked best in the past and furthered their sound. Keep reading for a closer look at the record, as well as a background on the band.
Made up of Adam, Matt, and Mike in 2016. General Admin so effortlessly combines elements of punk, indie rock, and experimental-based music. Combining all of their personal experience for another stellar EP called techno techno techno techno, the power trio simply kept us entertained and enthused throughout the entirety of our initial listen. It’s a style we particularly love and are 100% confident that all who listen will feel the exact same. Don’t miss out on something special!
Infusing together a ton of their musical inspirations like Pavement or Fugazi, General Admin have still managed to create a piece of art that is wholly original and unbelievably fresh sounding. Through captivating instrumentals that truly go off the deep end in the best way possible, lyrically speaking they haven’t lacked in the slightest either. Originally the band was formed as “escapism from the order and responsibilities” from their lives in London, but knowing the amount of work and sheer passion involved, we sincerely hope that they make this their full-time effort.
In the current landscape of rock music as a whole, it’s legitimately difficult to come across anything nowadays that feels new or not just a general rehashing of what was done in the past. Where techno techno techno techno comes in somehow perfectly bridging the gap between these catchy melodic passages and instrumentals that are thought provoking. At just 4 songs, we finished up our first listen in a literal awe, attempting to process all that had just come through our ears. Without a doubt, there’s a density about these songs meaning there’s a ton happening at once. Even to the trained ear, there’s no way you’d be able to hear everything in one go. Thankfully we took the time to return for a few subsequent listens and absolutely hit the sweet spot of familiarization.
