Gene Caberra Band preview upbeat single "When You're Gone" off upcoming album
Delivering their first single since 2019, Gene Caberra Band have shared quite the stunner on their latest “When You’re Gone”. Please read on for our full review of the track, as well as a background on the band.
With a debut album on the way, Gene Caberra Band have given the fans a big taste of what’s to come. Displaying a “cheerful retro soul” track that’s dedicated to wanderlust and love, every single moment of “When You’re Gone” is upbeat, vibrant, and insanely catchy. It’s got us beyond excited for a record full of songs like this, but in the meantime before its release, you must go ahead and check it out.
While it felt like there were infinite things we loved about this song in particular, some of the real standouts were just how easily the band transcended genres in their aim to capture a wide audience. With so much love and passion coming through the vocals, the backing instrumentation didn’t stray from a great time either. It felt like equal parts rock and soul, but with a bit of 70’s twist on the backend to nurture that nostalgic sound we think they’re going for.
Coming all the way from Berlin for these talented musicians, we hope the wait isn’t too long to see them live and in action. Patchwork is the name of the new album scheduled for a 2022 release and we have a sneaking suspicion big things are going to come from it. Featuring so many fun indie pop moments, casually paired with infectious beats and bass lines, they’ve seriously impressed us on “When You’re Gone”. There wasn’t a moment that felt it was lacking or that needed anything else added, they created a perfect moment.
With that being said though, Gene Caberra Band are certainly a super group to keep an eye out for in the New Year.
