Escape Ring share their positivity on upbeat single, "Winning the War"
On just their second overall single titled “Winning the War”, Escape Ring have found their signature sound that we’ve fallen in love with. Please read on for our full review of the track, in addition to a background on this emerging band.
So early on in their career, Escape Ring are already racking up accolades some bands could only dream of. Gaining musical placements on NBC’s The Biggest Loser was a major milestone, but we have a feeling that with the release of “Winning the War”, much bigger things are on the way for the band. This one’s got a feel good attitude to it and we can’t wait for everyone out there to get listening.
Written by main songwriter Darren Moss, the background of the track has to do with “the struggle we all have from time to time conquering the voices in our own heads holding us back from whatever it is we secretly know we should be doing”. Taking inspiration in the vocal delivery from Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo, we still confidently feel that there’s a ton of originality and vibrance coming through that can be directly attributed to the band’s talents.
With so much more music on the way, and even a record coming titled Anybody Can Do Anything, our thoughts here are to hop on the Escape Ring bandwagon before they blow up big. You’ll get the feeling not long after you click the play button, but for us, “Winning the War” was filled to the brim with infinite highs coming from the upbeat instrumentation and of course those silky smooth vocals. Additionally, we were also left with a massive feeling of optimism and the power to push forward towards a brand new year.
The messaging within Escape Ring’s music feels generally positive, however what’s standing out the most to us is just how well rounded these songs really are.
