Ernest Hummingbird makes his return on grand 2nd single, "Shadow Me"
Making a swift return for a second single called “Shadow Me” that immediately caught our ear, Ernest Hummingbird has done it once again. Please read on for a closer look into the track, as well as an update on the artist.
Piquing our interest with his debut single “Paint The Night”, Ernest Hummingbird is back in action with another piece of cinematic and enthusiastic beauty. His latest is titled “Shadow Me” and it has capitalized off what we enjoyed so much about the first song, but in a way that’s also expanded his sound and shown other capabilities. He’s slowly working towards the release of a full length LP slated for release later this year, but in the meantime, we overwhelmingly suggest you give this one a listen.
Led by grand vocal harmonies, slick production, and the essence of Ernest as a person, “Shadow Me” is serving as a lyrically powerful song that we’ve quickly grown to love. While it’s generally upbeat in tone, the context of it all looks towards the future in a way to “explore how we can create optimism and hope despite the world feeling like it’s crumbling around us”. It’s so perfectly on the nose and extremely relatable to what we’re currently feeling, but the song provides a platform for those who don’t have someone to sympathize with. If you can find solace with the artist, then ultimately we think that’s a success in our eyes.
From what we’ve heard so far, Ernest Hummingbird is crafting together pop-centric tunes with a purpose, rather than just stringing hooks together for the heck of it. The construction of these songs from start to finish are incredibly unique and the passion is seemingly endless, but that comes straight from his voice that has carried these songs. In fact, last time we covered the artist our instant hope was that more was on the way, and thankfully there is. We’ve got a feeling we’ll see more singles released sporadically before the record, but undoubtedly will be coming back to the first two tracks to capture that initial feeling.
