Elsewaves drop in for a tell all on rockin' single, "Smilin' Through" - Interview
Kicking their year off extremely strong with a killer single called “Smilin’ Through”, we got the opportunity to sit and speak with one of the members of Elsewaves, Chris Kinkade! Check out our full interview below.
After a lifelong friendship of jamming and creating mind-bending music, the duo of Chris Kinkade and Rick Knotts are continuing to further their sound on their project, Elsewaves. In our newest interview with Chris specifically, we broke down the band’s newest song “Smilin’ Through”, detailed the recording process over the years, and uncovered what’s coming next for the band. Without a doubt, we had a fantastic time speaking and this is not a chat to miss out on.
While the two don’t necessarily live in the same city, that hasn’t stopped the two from creating a slew of sensational tunes over the years. What seemingly starts out as nonsensical jams ultimately turn into eclectic and genre spanning singles that have stood the test of time. With help on the production and instrumentation end from Doug McGrew on drums as well as Lynn Sorensen ("Bad Company", "Paul Rodgers Band") on bass and strings, this combo have become unstoppable.
Of course we’re going to overwhelmingly recommend you check out “Smilin’ Through”, the band has a large and always growing discography that’s worth the time for exploration as well. Seriously, from straight rock bangers to methodical instrumentals, they’ve covered it all in terms of sound, style, and notoriety. The both continue on in their normal day to day lives, but we’re over here hoping they can plan some sort of tour so we can witness it all in a live setting. Their music is perfectly primed to be played in front of a live audience.
Truly though, it can’t be overstated how much of a good time our talk with Chris was and the joy really comes through if you check it out for yourselves. Don’t miss out of course, but also do yourselves a big favor by checking out the links below to listen, follow along, and stay tuned for more!
