Elisha does it again on intimate second single, "My Beauty"
Serving a slow jam of epic proportions, Elisha’s latest single is titled “My Beauty” and filled with a heap of soul. Please read on for a closer look into the song, as well as a background on this talented artist.
With a goal to become a love letter of self empowerment, Elisha’s “My Beauty” is only her second official single, but she’s already making waves within her genre. Bordering on the line of soul, blues, with elements of jazz-like instrumentation, her vocals lend themselves as the constant and forefront of this intoxicating listen. At this point, we’re overwhelmingly recommending everyone out there give it a listen as soon as they can.
If the lyrics weren’t enough to make “My Beauty” pop, it’s certainly the diverse usage of instrumentation that was surely our favorite part of the song. Leading off with a sexy saxophone line to evoke a mood and atmosphere, Elisha comes strolling in nonchalantly with her dynamic vocals that amplify the song even higher. It’s not hard to realize or feel, but everything about this song is equal parts vulnerable and intimate. You could honestly see yourself witnessing it live in a tiny jazz club or venue, at least that’s where we’d prefer to watch it go down.
According to Elisha on the background of her music, “My songs are basically a diary entry. Everything I write about is personal to me”. Thankfully she’s been super busy over the past couple of years writing and refining a collection of songs to be released, and although it’s just two thus far, there’s plenty more on the way. We took the opportunity to check out her debut, and it’s an incredibly strong outing, but we’re vibing a lot more with “My Beauty” and it’s imagery-expansive words that paint a picture. Paired with all the other shining moments, it’s hard to not want more or fall in love with the sound and style that Elisha has delivered.
