Don Mastro brings the holiday spirit on stellar EP, "Christmas Wish"
Giving the fans exactly what they need at the end of the year, Don Mastro has just served up a holiday-themed EP titled Christmas Wish. We’re loving it! Please read on for our full review of the record, in addition to a refresher on the artist.
Following up his killer record Uncanny Valley that we had the pleasure to review and interview the artist all about, the holidays have made their way into Don Mastro’s music. Putting his very signature sound on some Christmas classics, this EP titled Christmas Wish is exactly the type of music we didn’t know we needed, but are now thrilled to exist. If this is your introduction to Don’s music, prepare for greatness.
At just four songs, Don immediately transports the listener right into the midst of the holiday times. Featuring his always stellar band imparting their powerful instrumentation, a super modern take on classics like “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” and “Frosty The Snowman” are what you can expect, however there’s a whole lot of attitude and glam infused too. Year after year we get so sick of the plain old songs, so to be able to have these songs in our library for the rest of the time, we’re beyond thankful.
Of course as impressive as these covers are, the continuous constant of it all has to be Don’s vocals and the way he delivers each line. Not just on this record, but in everything he makes, you’re always left feeling like there’s passion and emotion behind everything. The love comes through, but in this case, he’s going to make so many old and new listeners during this time of the year. While we’re always happy for a new Don release, we always hope there’s even more originals in the works too.
Wrapping it up though, Don Mastro is the bad boy the world needs, let us make that clear. Get into his music, follow along, and make sure to stay tuned for everything else that’s surely on the way for 2022. We know we’ll be keeping an eye out as always, enjoy!
