Disco Goth shares striking performance on experimental EP, "PAROUSIA"
Blending together two unlikely genres but ultimately making it work in the best way possible, Disco Goth has shared PAROUSIA with the world. Everyone needs to get their ears on this. Please read on for our full review of the record, in addition to a background on the artist.
It really cannot be overstated, but the music of Disco Goth effortlessly spans the entire spectrum of music. While you would make the assumption of Disco and Goth based off the artist’s name, PAROUSIA is actually so much more than that. Featuring an expansive production, endless experimentation on the vocals and instrumentation side of things, and so much more, we can’t help but overwhelmingly recommend a listen.
We’ll kick things off by saying this one isn’t for the lighthearted, however anyone out there who’s looking to expand their musical horizons might as well scroll down and click the play button right now. Coming in at 7 total tracks, each one takes on a new life of its own and keeps the listener guessing throughout the entirety. One thing we know for absolute sure is that we’ll be giving it a second listen based off just how dense it is and how much we may have missed due to to the multitude of subtleties hiding in the production.
While of course there were standout tracks for us like the opener “h e r m i t” and “angel”, you’d be a fool not to listen to this in its entirety. Throughout the record, you’re getting that even dose of glitchy vocals that provide infinite suspense and an almost looming fear in the instrumentation. We almost wish we would’ve discovered this during Halloween time because for us, it’s that ideal spooky listen. What we will say going forward though, is that we recommend giving it a listen towards nighttime purely based on the undertones and the atmosphere it provides to all.
Legitimately, there isn’t a single negative or complaint we could state here. When it comes to making music that actually makes the listener stop, think, and evaluate, this is the definition of that. It’s not often we hear something like this that immediately perks up our ears, but let it be the testament that this is a super unique listen. Don’t miss it!
