Fresh off the release of her latest single, “love that u lost it”, we got the chance to catch up with Devon Alexis to get all the specifics on her newest release. Please check out our full interview below.
Currently based out of New York, Devon Alexis has been fully immersed in music since she was two years old. Always striving to create, write, and sing, it ultimately led to a solo career of her own in which she’s well on her way to building up a massive discography. Her debut “Brix” was shared in March of last year, but she’s followed it up with something even more beautiful, an all new track called “love that u lost it”. During our conversation with the artist, she so kindly walked us through its process of creation, everything in the works for 2023, and so much more!
Aside from her solo project, she also performs with a New York-based pop rock band called The Turbulents. It obviously hasn’t taken her away from her own thing, but if anything, it’s allowed for another outlet in which she’s able to imagine these dark and alternative pop tunes. While of course the real priority here is to give this song a listen whenever possible, it always helps to get a much needed background and insight into her process and how she sort of switches between the projects. You can look and listen to what was experienced on “Brix” and immediately know that her style, sound, and genre bending knows no bounds, leaving the door open for so much more experimentation in the near future. The best part about it though is that her vocals continue to be the focal point and hold that signature sound, which truly is a major factor on why we’ll be patiently waiting for its follow up.
