David Touchton provides a background on single, "Wishing Well" - Interview
Putting his heart and soul into his latest single “Wishing Well”, we got the special opportunity to sit and speak with David Touchton all about the song. Please check out our full interview below.
Considering David Touchton’s life is like something “straight out of a country sing”, it makes his lyricism and storied past all the more important within his music. On his latest single “Wishing Well”, which is actually part of his latest full length album”, we got the chance to talk in-depth with the artist all about its origins, what he’s been up to over the past year, and what we can expect from him going forward surrounding live shows and so much more. Needless to say, this is a chat you won’t be want to miss out on.
While his musical influences are widely varied from anywhere between George Strait all the way to The Beatles or Pink Floyd, he’s still managed to carve a niche out for himself with a classic country sound that exemplifies his strengths on the vocal side. Currently based out of Austin, Texas, he’s also been touring extensively within the local scene for about six years now. We mentioned during our interview just how powerful these songs would be in a live setting, so if you happen to be located anywhere around Austin, make it a point to head to a show.
As for “Wishing Well” and the surrounding album which we’ve now had the opportunity to listen to in full, it’s an enticingly personal record that according to David, “asks questions of existence and exposes the deepest heartache”. While we mainly talked the title track, the background he gave on the song can surely be translated in full. What you can expect is something relatively stripped back on the instrumental end, but bursting at the seams with emotion in his delivery and the sheer grandness that the song exudes as a whole.
For now though, please do yourselves a favor and check out the links below in order to listen, follow along, and of course to stay tuned for all the big news that’s on the way. Enjoy our talk too!
