Clare Luna opens up on heartfelt single, "22 Moons"
Released officially on February 12th, 2021, Clare Luna has shared her sophomore single, “22 Moons”. We’re loving it! Read along with us as we break down our thoughts on the track, in addition to a background on the artist as well.
Having just moved to Nashville, Tennessee to wrap up recording for her debut album, Heartbreak in the AM, Clare Luna is a 26 year old singer songwriter who has beyond impressed us with this single.
So the story goes according to Clare, the creation of “22 Moons” essentially came from the layered emotions that happen to an individual after a breakup. Using New and Full Moon to set intentions for herself, it’s become a way of tracking the progress that’s been made on getting over it. In our opinion, one of the best ways to get over anything is to turn it into a wonderful piece of art. Take that heartache, depression, or whatever it may be, and turn it in something beautiful for the entire world to enjoy. What she’s done here on this specific track is a wonderful representation of what to do when feeling these valid emotions.
As for the actual song itself and the way it made us feel, well, it put us in a smiley, upbeat, and overall positive mood. Putting her own alternative spin on a mainstream pop sound, Clare has managed to figuratively carve a diamond from the rough. We always love reviewing these types of songs that come from personal stories and experiences, mainly because you can feel the emotion come through and it tends to translate incredibly well to the vocal delivery.
Instrumentally and atmospherically, she’s knocked it out of the park. It’s the type of song you could get up and dance to or even just bob along to on a car ride for example. It serves the purpose of being multifaceted in the sense that if you’re not listening too closely, it’s just another fun pop song. However if you are listening and focusing on the subject matter, it gives you the opportunity to relate with the artist and the lonely experience they may have gone through. However you’d like to look or listen, the song is a winner.
Considering that this is a teaser track off the aforementioned debut album, consider us excited for when that’s set to drop. We can only assume it’ll be sometime in the near future, but we’ll make sure to update. For now, give “22 Moons” and the lyric video a listen!
