Chad Steele shares his emotionally open album, "Waking Dream"

After five long years of putting it together, Chad Steele’s work has paid off because his all new album Waking Dream has quickly proved to be fantastic. Please read on for our full review of the record, as well as a background on this talented artist.

“Nostalgic, pensive, and melancholic, yet brimming with energy”, Chad Steele’s Waking Dream immediately took us by hold throughout the first listen. Effortlessly blending up glimmers of 80’s pop, ballad type tracks, and showing off his true talents as a musician, we can’t help but overwhelmingly recommend a deep dive into this masterful work of music as soon as you possibly can.

After learning to play piano at the age of 17, playing in a series of bands, and so much more, Chad Steele made the conscious decision to branch out on his own and make a name for himself. We’d have to confidently state that so far that was the right decision as this record stands out from anything he’s been a part of so far.

Throughout your first listen of Waking Dream, you can hear Steele break down his journey through loss, grief, and finding his way towards the future. He’s put his heart on his sleeve for all those who are willing to listen. Lyrically some of the songs are wrapped up in a brighter and upbeat sound, however when you really focus in and get the full picture, the hard hitting stories come through.

What we enjoyed probably the most about our listen was just how real it all felt. Jam packed with emotion, sincerity, and the feel of drama, some of our standout tracks were the album opener “Electron”, “Blood/Sweat”, and “Cycles”. Although we have to state that this is absolutely a record that you’re going to want to experience in full as it really provides the full picture from start to finish. It’s not an album we recommend to skip around as it flows flawlessly from beginning until end.

At 9 complete tracks, the artist has put together an impeccably diverse album that is overly mature and has up hoping for a positive future. We left our listening in a great mood with the immediate want for more music just like it. While this is coming out on release day, we just hope you give it a listen on any day.
