CAPYAC crank it up on hypnotic summer single, "GOODTIME"

You can stop looking for your song of the summer, because we’re pretty sure this is it! CAPYAC have just debuted an all timer that they’ve titled “GOODTIME” and we’re loving it. Read on for a closer look into the track, as well as a background on these talented artists.

Made up of P. Sugz (Eric Peana) and Potion (Delwin Campbell), CAPYAC are a Los Angeles-based electronic crossover act that have given us all the serotonin and dopamine with their latest release, “GOODTIME”. If the title was their intention, then they’ve certainly succeeded. Considering this was our introduction to the power duo, we didn’t quite know what to expect initially, but they’ve managed to turn us into fans immediately. If you know what’s good for you, you’ll give this one a spin as soon as possible.

Originally from Austin, Texas and making a name for themselves via the dance music industry, they’ve taken their talents to LA and have been making waves ever since. Hallmarked by their signature high-energy live sets that feature crazy costume changes, collaborations, and so much more, we’ll be patiently waiting for their next set as we’re also in the area. Focusing in on “GOODTIME” though, the duo don’t waste a solitary moment that isn’t filled with rambunctiously groovy beats, infectious bass lines, and a repeated chorus that makes you want to belt it out at the top of your lungs.

While the song is definitely rooted in electronica, they’ve still managed to infuse so many glimmers of other genres that range from funk to house and beyond. No matter what you enjoy on a daily basis, there’s no doubt in our minds that the moment this gets flipped on, that’s when the real party starts. Even on the instrumentation side, they’ve included this hypnotic rhythm section that’s reminiscent of Parliament Funkadelic and Chic, but with a modern touch to it that updates those memorable classics. There’s a repeated line throughout the track that goes “trying to have a good time”, but honestly, that’s going to be the least of your worries.

With all that being said, we’re urging everyone out there to crank this one up, send it around, and to kick off the summer season with a listen. Additionally, we’ve got all the links below to follow along and stay tuned for all the latest updates coming from CAPYAC. Enjoy!
