Campion Crew debut an inspiring & motivational single, "Find Your Own Way"
Making their way back with another fantastic single released in 2022, we’re overjoyed with how “Find Your Own Way” by Campion Crew turned out. Please go ahead and check out our full review of the track below, in addition to a much needed background on this band.
Having re-formed during the midst of the pandemic after knowing each other for 30+ years, Campion Crew have been on an absolute tear while sharing inspired and downright motivational music. On their newest, “Find Your Own Way”, it was said to be made quite easily by Danny Kearney and Davie Nettleship as they pieced the puzzle together quickly to ultimately make something well rounded and instrumentally striking. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed our listen and are excited for everyone to give this a spin.
On the background of the track, the band let us know it “addresses the difficulties of life with a calm and peaceful approach that stands strong in the face of these hardships and describe it as "a transformative guide for those confused by the world- expectations, guiding listeners to forge their own paths and let go of these expectations”. While it all comes across very clearly within their imagery-filled lyricism, it never hurts to know the true meaning from the songwriters themselves. With inspirations coming from music legends like REM and Depeche Mode, they’ve still managed to carve out something unique within a crowded space of their genre.
While we left the song feeling all different sorts of emotions and moods, one thing we particularly enjoyed was the stripped back and raw feeling that “Find Your Own Way” holds. Sure, the instrumental is breathtaking, beautiful, and creates such a nice atmosphere overall, but we were particularly drawn to how the song made us feel as a whole by the end. It certainly has calming and relaxing elements to it, but it also surprisingly puts you in a state of focus to truly experience all that’s coming your way. Each musician brings their own talents into the mix and really makes it so that you need to come back for more listens to hyperfocus on each artist’s work. This was our introduction to the band, but we already know we’ll be doing a deep dive of the rest of their discography quite soon.
