Brandyn Killz ends the year on all new art pop EP, "Find Me On The Dancefloor"
Review by Austin Sher
Released on the last day of the year, Brandyn Killz is back with potentially one of the year’s best, Find Me On The Dancefloor. Do yourselves a huge favor and read along for our review of the record, in addition a background on the artist as well.
For those unaware, Brandyn Killz is an Electropop artist that creates to help bring his listeners closer to closure, and back to the dance floor. His ultimate goal is to empower individuals to be happy based on their own validation. Brandyn wants to be the hype man in your life that fuels you with his inventive and cutting edge music.
With a handful of releases already under his belt this year, we think it’s seriously fantastic that he chose the last day of the year for a full release. We know for a fact we’ll be listening to it through the New Year, just because it’s so great. Featuring so many beautiful highs, lows, and climaxes within his sound, our true first impression was just how immaculate the production on the EP came out. It sounds incredible on a nice pair of headphones, to truly emphasize all the hard work that was put into it.
At its base, it’s a pop record, but after looking within we’d have to call it art pop in the sense that it breaks boundaries of what so many mainstream artists are accomplishing these days. Brandyn isn’t mainstream in his sound whatsoever though, in fact he’s about as indie as he gets in terms of being inventive and making things his own. When you listen to a Brandyn Killz track, you know it’s him, because he’s got that signature sound, especially in his perfectly unique vocal delivery.
The way he carries himself on the EP is about as confident as you can be. He pulls it off in every way possible and that’s what we liked the most. This record is a bold statement that not every artist could pull off, but on tracks like “Alright”, “Broken Toy”, and “Outta Control”, the artist puts himself out there in the best ways possible. It’s difficult to not to love him not only as a musician, but as a person as well.
What else can we really say, other than we are highly suggesting and recommending you check out this EP as soon as can be. If you happen to be reading this on New Year’s Eve, make sure to party it up with Find Me On The Dancefloor.
