Bonsai Animal cranks it up on "Surrender" with help from Mark Johns
Perfect for the hot summer weather and beyond, Bonsai Mammal’s newest collaboration track titled “Surrender” is an instant hit! Read on for our full review of the track, as well as a background on the artist.
Enlisting the help of Naomi (Mark Johns) with the vocal section, Bonsai Mammal’s “Surrender” may just be our song of the summer. Featuring a “futuristic homage to those 90’s vocal house tunes”, we’ve found ourselves coming back to this song frequently when we’re in the mood for an uplifting and vibrant listen overall. Truly, we can’t wait for everyone to get dancing to this wonderful new track.
Even better, there’s actually two separate versions of “Surrender” that have been released. One is the standard we suppose and the other is an extended mix. The best part is that both are lovely takes on the single, so we’d suggest that you check out both just for good measure. A recommendation that we’d like to make right now is that if you’ve got yourself a nice pair of headphones or sound system, it would be a disservice to listen to “Surrender” any other way considering the bass is seriously bumping on this one.
What we loved so much about the collaboration is here is the moniker of Mark Johns really made this song elevate and pop to memorable levels. The vocal structure fit nicely across the backing beat of the track, whereas the production as a whole was out of this world. Both musicians brought their absolute A game and nailed a vintage yet modern sound that’s tough to capture these days. In our eyes and hearts, we can’t wait (and hope) that there’s more on the way from these two as we’ve been downright impressed.
Honestly, no matter the weather or the temperature, this is one of the songs that’s virtually guaranteed to put you in a good mood no matter the situation. You’ll find out as soon as you start listening, which to be honest, should be right now because there’s no better time to listen than the present. Do yourselves a favor and follow along with Bonsai Animal as well, we have a feeling that bigger and better things are on the way.
