Bella Garland delivers a relatable 2nd single, "18"

Inspiring, connecting, and healing through her songwriting, Bella Garland has made a swift return on her newest single, “18”. Please read on for our full review of the track, as well as a background on this blossoming artist.

On just her second ever single titled “18”, Bella Garland is quickly coming into her own on style and delivery. Although she’s been writing for 5 years at this point, her gifts and special talents shine right through on this reflective song in unimaginable ways. The entirety of it is a true and delicate beauty, so of course we’ve got no choice but to give this one a resounding suggestion to get listening to as soon as possible.

Written on her dorm room floor during her first semester, which happened to coincide with COVID, the background of it all is that perfect portrayal of the “struggle and isolation young people face as the pandemic overshadows one of life’s greatest milestones of transitioning into adulthood”. Truly for so many out there, it’s an unbelievably awkward time to be growing up, and with so many restrictions and responsibilities, it’s an ideal topic to be writing about right now. Her songwriting does the expert job of putting everyone’s thoughts into beauty, not to mention the subtle instrumentation only amplifies the message.

Ultimately centering the song around her vocals though, “18” and her debut “After You” are prime examples of why Bella is going to be making it far within the music scene. She’s not tying herself to only being a country musician and really she’s got that versatility to do whatever she wants. If this is your introduction to her music, you’ve discovered her at just the right time because we’ve got a feeling that so much more is on the way for 2022!
