Becky Crosby lights it up on stellar debut EP, "Laugh It Off"
Set for its official release on January 28th, 2022, we can confidently claim right now that Becky Crosby’s debut EP Laugh It Off is a bonafide hit. Please read on for our full review of the record, in addition to a background on the artist.
Currently based out of New York, Becky Crosby is a Pop Funk artist who’s so eloquently put her heart and soul into this wonderful new EP called Laugh It Off. As it’s become her outlet for expression, you can instantly feel the originality and genuineness that it gives off as a whole. After listening through multiple times at this point, it’s only gotten better with age, and we sincerely can’t wait for everyone to listen come release day.
At just five tracks in length, Becky leaves nothing to the imagination in terms of lyricism and ultimately groovy instrumentation. We particularly love this format because it gives the artist the ability to really put out their best quality without having to pack filler in there for length’s purposes. What you’re going to experience are five tight tracks that masterfully highlight bits and pieces of a stranger’s life, but you can’t help but instantly be sucked in by the allure of it all.
While the entirety of the EP feels like one constant highlight, obviously we had our favorites to pick from. We recommend listening from start to finish regardless, but if you don’t have the time, you must at least give the opener “Numb” and “Untitled” a listen. This is what we feel so perfectly sums up her sound. You’re getting such an even mix of horns, expert composition, and Becky’s vocals that serve as the constant Laugh It Off really needed. Legitimately, we have zero complaints or critiques about this, it’s a masterpiece.
Lastly, we really do need everyone out there to give this a listen because it’s worthy of that plus so much more. A reminder that it comes out on January 28th, but in the meantime, we’ve included all the most important links below where you can listen and follow along on her social media in order to keep up with it all. Enjoy this!
