Audri does it again on bright & vibrant EP, "Mechanic High"
Officially released on June 23rd, 2022, Audri has completely blown us away on her fourth EP, Mechanic High. Please read on for a closer look into the record, in addition to a background on this emerging artist.
After seeing a great deal of success on her past three records, Audri has made her way back at the perfect time, because everything about Mechanic High feels like summer. Now while this particular release is relatively more upbeat compared to her previous endeavors, there’s been no shortage of depth or attention to detail from start to finish. Plain and simple though, we’ve sincerely enjoyed our multiple listens through and are overwhelmingly recommending this to anyone who’s looking for an energy boost.
Kicking the record off with an appropriate opener titled “Euphoria”, there’s legitimately only one describer to use here, and it’s euphoric. We say that not to sound cheesy, but the way that this song was composed and the absolute dynamic range that Audri shows off in her vocal delivery fully embody the definition of that word. The rest of the record goes on to showcase a ton of fantastic indie pop moments and a variety of instrumentation that doesn’t lack, but we already know we’ll be coming back to Mechanic High solely for how this artist sounds. She’s got such a unique tone and passion behind her voice that it almost acts as a hidden instrument in the mix. At just three songs total on this record, it’s a short but sweet burst of emotion, and enough replayability to have you listening all summer long.
The closer “Pasture Lullaby” comes closer to what we’ve heard in the past from Audri, however we really loved the more stripped back and raw version of what we heard here. Although we wish there were 50 more songs on this record, this three song run is a really a thing of beauty that features zero filler and her artistry at its finest. We would never want to rush an artist into putting out more and more, but we’re already anxiously awaiting the followup whenever it may come.
With all that being said though, it’s no surprise that we’ve got to recommend once again that you check out Mechanic High and everything else Audri has shared thus far. Go ahead and check out those links below to listen, follow along, and to stay tuned for the latest.
