Amanda Marie Wilkinson opens up on reflective new single, "What If"

Kicking the year with a fresh new release, Amanda Marie Wilkinson has officially debuted her latest, “What If”. We’re loving it! Please read along with us as we share our thoughts on the track, as well a refresher on the artist as well.
You may remember not too long ago when we covered Amanda’s single, “Spiritual Level”. Well now the singer, songwriter, publisher, and actress is back with a reflective new single, “What If”. To Amanda, “writing is therapy and so is music", so to mend the two loves into one thing of beauty was the natural evolution of her hobbies. Thus far we’ve been extremely impressed with her output, and with this release, the impressiveness continues.
Comparing “What If” to “Spiritual Level”, we felt that this song was a tad more refined than the first time we’d reviewed. Not to say “Spiritual Level” wasn’t fantastic, but we can truly say that the production value was turned up, as well as the emotions evoked as well. We like the more minimalistic approach she took as well, whereas most of the focus goes toward the lyrics, atmospheric noise, and of course on her glimmering vocals.
Seeing as this is the first release of the year for Amanda, we’re crossing our fingers that more is on the way in a timely fashion. With there being so much life experience that’s come over the past year to pull from, we hope that it’s only a matter of time until we see either an EP or full length record released by the artist. No rush, but we’ll be waiting.
In the meantime though, this was a seriously great addition to her ever growing discography that we think is solidifying her place as a talented singer and songwriter. We’re absolutely looking forward to more, but in the meantime, we’ll have “What If” on repeat. For a second single to be released like this, it’s a very positive step in the right direction.
