AM Dandy and the Elements deliver genre-bending album, "Oracle"

Freshly released on March 27th, 2021, AM Dandy and the Elements have put forth their genre-bending new album, Oracle. Please read along with us as we share our complete thoughts on the track, as well as a background on the project.

Based out of Los Angeles, AM Dandy and the Elements are a cinematic and rock fusion band who have incorporated an impeccable amounts of genre into this full length feature. Showcasing their massive range of sound, we have quickly come to fall in love with everything we’ve heard here. For lovers of thoughtful instrumentals with a whole lot of experimentation, this one is for you.

Formed in 2018 at Berklee College of Music, Alessandro Meynardi (AM Dandy) met Euan Leslie (drums) and Jack Schwenke (bass), who then went on to form the initial group. What eventually became AM Dandy and the Elements in 2019, also managed to add on Riccardo Gresino and Jason Park on keyboards. Together as a five piece, their riveting music has beyond made our ears perk up.

Coming in at 13 total songs, spanning 57 minutes in run time, Oracle is progressive, jazzy, rock-filled, and features just about everything we love in our music as a whole. Seriously though, by the end of the album opener “Mighty Mick”, we were sold, we needed to hear more of the band before our first listens were even finished.

Trying to nail down exactly what specific pieces of the record we loved would be a near impossible task. However, picking out songs may be a better start. If you happen to be lukewarm on clicking the play button, let us recommend you a jumping off point in the form of particular singles. Obviously our hope is for you to start off on the opener “Mighty Mick”, but also tracks like “Tree of Souls”, “Follow Me”, and the 10 minute epic closer “Epiphany” would be wonderful additions to your music listening. Again we just have to say, you should start at the beginning and run it through till the end.

We can’t say enough great things about Oracle, so our musical homework for the moment is to dig into as much of this band as possible. We’ll without a doubt be starting at the beginning to hear the evolution of where they’ve come, but we’d also like to pass on the message directly to them that you’ve gained a following here at We Write About Music. Keep it up!

Wrapping it up though, for all the music lovers no matter the genres you prefer, there’s something for every listener on here. Do yourselves a huge favor and click the link below to check it out!
