Allen Stone lets his vocals shine on new album, "APART"

Seeing its official release this coming Friday, November 12th, we got the wonderful opportunity to preview Allen Stone’s latest record, APART. Let us make it known as loud as possible right now, this album is seriously fantastic. Read on for our full in-depth look below.

For this Washington-based singer and songwriter, he’s delicately stripped back his sound on APART and let the best parts of his artistry shine as bright as possible. Coming in at 12 total tracks, and one featuring Alessia Cara, this is one of those rare cohesive listens that’s meant to be played from start to finish. Brimming with soul, passion, and all of the emotions in the world, we can’t wait for everyone to get their ears on this.

On the background of the record, Stone says, “The crazy thing about a song is you write it in a particular moment and then, if you’re lucky, you get to keep playing that song over and over for the rest of your life. This album was a way to pay homage to the songs that have been my foundational support for the last decade, and to also pay homage to all the people who’ve loved these songs over the years.”

That’s what has been one of the greatest parts of this release is getting to hear reimaginings of his sound and to also audibly experience the improvements in which he’s made over the past 10 years. While that’s not to say he’s ever had any shortcomings, rather his vocals on the entirety of the record have matured like a nice glass of fine wine. We instantly imagined ourselves listening to APART on a cold Fall day, listening by a fire, as the atmosphere of this record is just the type of warmth that we needed.

Picking out standout tracks would almost be a waste of time, mainly due to that cohesiveness we mentioned in the beginning. Everything flows so elegantly that it would be a true shame to click skip on any of these tracks. Furthermore, we can only imagine how nicely these songs are going to translate in a live setting. We’ve actually included all of Allen Stone’s tour dates below, and by the looks of it, he’s surely making his rounds around North America. Make sure to catch him at a show if he comes to a city near you.

Wrapping it all up though, Allen Stone’s APART is a record you’d be a fool to miss out on. Right under the concert dates, you can find the link to listen. Enjoy!
