Aggressive Soccer Moms unveil another complex rocker, "Darling"

Letting loose one more before the release of their record Quint, Aggressive Soccer Moms have crushed it again on their latest, “Darling”. Keep reading as we take a much closer look into the track, as well as an update on the band.

It’s been nearly two months since our last review of Aggressive Soccer Moms’ lead single “That’s How I Feel” and we’ve been patiently waiting for this day to come. Fresh off another teaser titled “Darling”, the band have switched it into overdrive on this song, speeding things up and brightening their sound for another complex and rhythmic listen. We’re beginning to see how the puzzle is forming ahead of the full record, but for now, we’re making it mandatory for all to give this one a spin.

Compared directly to “That’s How I Feel”, the band had already gone above and beyond in switching up their previous sound that listeners were used to. In this scenario though, they’ve followed suit in creating layers up layers of dense instrumentation that seemingly never stop building from the moment the opening note hits. With the addition of a saxophone and audible guitar solos, plus the uniqueness that comes directly from the vocals, they’re keeping us guessing as more comes out. That’s sort of been the best part of reviewing this band is the ability to be on the edge of our seats, never knowing what direction they might take, yet still reeling things in for a signature sound that fits their mold.

Once again, putting a label on this in terms of genre or style has become increasingly difficult, but in the best way possible. Obviously it’s rooted in some sort of rock, but there’s also some power punk that comes into play when you consider the edge and attitude of it all. It’ll have you rocking your head back and forth, finding yourself lost in the ongoing instrumentation, but also leave you feeling energized and optimistic. It’s this weird cosmic blend of sound, but Aggressive Soccer Moms continue to pull off the non obvious and we can’t help but love it.
