Los Angeles' Greek Theater cancels 2020 season, first time in over 90 years

Article by Austin Sher

For the first time in 90 years, Los Angeles’ The Greek Theater has officially cancelled its 2020 concert season. Conforming with Los Angeles County regulations, the cancellation brings little surprise to the concert goers of LA.

Kicking it off with a direct quote from the head of Los Angeles Parks and Recreation, ““Although we had hoped to celebrate our 90th Anniversary Season of providing live entertainment for the citizens of Los Angeles we feel it is the right, responsible and safe thing for fans, artists, staff and our Griffith Park community to put a pause on live, large crowd events until 2021,” said City of Los Angeles, Recreation and Parks Executive Officer, AP Diaz.”

While this is not a surprise in the least, the news and truth still hurts. With regulations and restrictions being loosened day by day all over Los Angeles, it’s truly unfortunate that we could not find a way to some way make even a reduced schedule work later in the year. While we wait for things to change on the concert side, it’s highly unlikely anyone in California will be attending a live event in the year 2020.

To keep up with the newest in concert news and Greek Theater news, the Greek has published this following statement, “We will be taking time to refresh and reset, working with all our valued partners to reschedule any previously planned events. Please continue to monitor our website for event status updates.“

Thankfully though, if you were an owner of a ticket to any of the below listed events, your tickets will undoubtedly be valid for the proposed new dates. As for the proposed dates, these are just stand in dates and by no means mean that the new show will be happening on those dates. Here are the shows being affected:
